Rabia Ilahi
Rabia Ilahi, MA, LMFT, CART received her Master’s Degree from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. Originally from Pakistan, Rabia moved with her family to the United States at the age of six. Reda Hicks

Reda Hicks is an Army spouse, and 1/3 of a remote family stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. While her husband Jake serves as a helicopter pilot at Ft. Riley, Reda lives with their four-year-old son Howie in Houston, Texas, where she has been a practicing attorney for nearly a decade.  Currently, she is Senior Counsel, Energy Solutions for Panalpina, Inc., an international shipping and logistics company. Reda serves as Vice President of Social Media for the American Bar Association’s Section of Energy and Environment; she is also a member of the #GritProject Committee for the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession. Reda is a huge fan of Houston. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Leadership Houston, and as Debates and Forums Committee Chair for the League of Women Voters Houston, where she helps to educate voters about candidates in local elections.

Trisha Cornwell

Trisha is Executive Director at EMERGE. She has been an advocate for students from low-income communities her entire career. She moved to Houston from upstate New York in 2006 as a Teach For America corps member. She taught 5th grade math at Braeburn Elementary in Houston ISD for three years before stepping out of the classroom to join the district’s Human Capital Talent Acquisition team. During this time, she served as the head of teacher selection, responsible for creating and implementing the district’s first centralized teacher selection model in an effort to increase teacher quality across HISD. In 2012, Trisha joined YES Prep Public Schools as the head of Communications and Marketing. In this role, she worked closely with local and national media outlets, managed campus campaigns focused on recruiting prospective teachers, students, and donors to the organization, and played a pivotal role in supporting YES Prep’s growth into new communities across Houston. She joined the EMERGE team in 2015.

Sydney Dao

As the publicist and marketing director, she has launched Houston-based designer Chloe Dao into an international brand. Prior to that, she represented designers Monique Lhuillier, Stephen Dweck and Bradley Bayou to name a few at Michael Atchison & Associates and Randall Rutledge Public Relations in New York City. She simultaneously held the roles of sales representative and PR executive while managing both partner companies. With almost 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, Sydney has had her hand in many aspects of the business from wholesale to retail, design to runway, and trade shows to fashion shows.

Terri McCullough

Terri McCullough is the director of No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project, a Clinton Foundation initiative led by Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton. No Ceilings is a Clinton Foundation initiative that brings together partner organizations to evaluate and share the progress girls and women have made in the 20 years since the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and chart the path forward for full participation in political, civil, economic and cultural life for girls and women in the 21st century. Terri joined the Foundation from the Tory Burch Foundation, which works to support women entrepreneurs in the U.S. through small loans, mentoring and entrepreneurial education. She previously served as chief of staff, advisor on women’s issues and in a number of other roles in the office of Representative Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. Her non-profit experience includes positions at NARAL Pro-Choice America, PENCIL (Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning), and Anna Deavere Smith’s Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue. She has a B.A. in politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and lives in New York City with her husband, daughter, and son.
